Louisiana Patient Assistance Grant Program

The BREAST Fund helps Louisiana breast cancer patients who are still carrying reconstruction-related medical debt after insurance, hospital financial assistance, and other resources have been exhausted.

We are a payer of last resort: grant funding is considered only after every other option—including a required screening with our partner Dollar For—has been explored.

We work alongside organizations that support patients during active treatment. Our focus is on patients who have completed at least one phase of breast reconstruction and continue to face financial hardship afterward.

Help Us Fund More Grants

Mudbugs for Jugs is our annual crawfish cook-off and community fundraiser benefiting The B.R.E.A.S.T. Fund, our one event each year, and the primary way we raise the funds behind every grant we award.

Our first event took place in 2026, bringing together more than 200 people from the breast cancer and reconstruction community, along with the friends, families, and providers who support them.

One day. One big boil. One shared goal: to raise funds that go directly toward covering the out-of-pocket costs of breast reconstruction after cancer… and have a damn good time doing it.

Follow us on Instagram (@mudbugsforjugs) for next year's date, location, and tickets.
